Bonnie Clem Ferguson

Bonnie Clem Rhodes Ferguson, 66, took her last breath Jan 1, 2017, at home in Newnan, GA, surrounded by her children and friends. Her loving care-free spirit is undoubtedly exploring the heavens and vast universe with a camera in one hand and a glass of wine in the other. A celebration of her life will be held in the barn, once the daffodils are in bloom, on a date yet to be determined. Her ashes will be released in the warm waters of Hawai'i this summer. Bonnie was born May 5, 1950 near Sandy Cross, Ga. Upon the passing of her parents in 1958, Bonnie moved to Maryland to live with her grandparents where she graduated from North Caroline High School in Ridgley, Md. Dedicated to continuing her education, she went on to receive her Bachelors degree from James Madison University, Masters and PhD from the Hawai'i School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University. Bonnie’s talents and ambitions were many as she was determined to live her life to the fullest. As a world-traveler she piloted aircraft, sailed the Caribbean, sky dived, explored countless countries and hiked mountains, all while touching many lives along the way. Bonnie was also a skilled photographer and artist who enjoyed entertaining with family and friends. Despite her declining health, Bonnie always kept her positive and cheerful attitude on full display. When told of her short time left, she took a trip with her children to Hawai'i to relive their childhood memories. And she continued her volunteer work at the Cancer Treatment Center of America. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband Gary; her parents Clem and Evelyn; and her brothers Barry and Jeffrey. Bonnie is survived by her children Kim, Kevin and Chris; step children Brian and Tracie; grandchildren Christopher, Cameron, Nolan, Jessica, Taylor, Ryan, Briana, Derek, Rose, Michael, Kerry, Alexis and Tyler; and great-grandchildren Mason, Lilly, Maddie, Zoe, Emma and Savannah. Loved ones, friends and fans around the world mourn the loss of this vibrant, bright and sparkly star. Bonnie’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to her caregivers, Debbie Carter, Tess Tate and Tonia Tinnian for providing comfort, companionship and love. As well, her children are forever grateful to Bonnie's childhood lifelong friend, Patsy Nier – thank you for your endless support and unconditional love during this difficult time.
