Charles Leroy Weber

Mr. Charles Leroy Weber, 85, of Macon, formerly of Franklin and Newnan, Georgia, passed away Monday, January 12, 2026, at Piedmont Hospital in Macon. He was born May 12, 1940, in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, to the late Harold Fredrick & Margaret Edminston Weber. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Marsha Jan Weber; his brothers, Paul, Richard, David, and Ralph Weber, and his sister, Ruth Alexander. Charles grew up on a farm in Pennsylvania and attended Lincoln High School in Ellwood City. He moved to Newnan, Georgia, in 1961, where he met his future bride, Shirley Ann Storey. He was drafted into the Army and was stationed in Germany from 1964 to 1966. When he returned, he married and began working at American Can. He began his career in Timber Harvesting in 1970. He eventually formed Weber Brothers Logging, where he worked with several brothers throughout his 40-year career. They were even nominated for the Outstanding Logger Award. The family moved to Franklin, GA, in 1980, where he became active in the Volunteer Fire Department. He and his wife opened an Herb shop in Roanoke, AL in 1995. He was a long-time member of Elim Baptist Church and served as a deacon and Sunday School Teacher. In addition to his work and later retirement, he loved gardening and sharing his harvest with family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Storey Weber; daughter, Lee Ann Duncan (Jeff) of Gray, GA; grandchildren, Tabatha Farley (Joe) of Ankeny, IA, Christian Duncan, Buford, GA, Jeffrey Isaiah Duncan (Cassie), Statesboro, GA; three great-granddaughters; brothers, Wayne (Lynn), Glenn (Vivian), George (Maxine); Sister-in-law, Virginia Yarbrough; 23 nieces and nephews. The funeral is Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St., Newnan, GA, with Rev. Jeff Duncan and Rev. Mike Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Elim Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
