Daniel Lee Charleston

Mr. Daniel Lee Charleston, 81, of Greenville, Georgia, formally of New Haven, Connecticut, passed away quietly in his home on Sunday, March 29, 2026. He was born to the late Nellie Charleston on February 25, 1945, in LaGrange, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Charleston, on December 24, 2025. Daniel moved to New Haven, Connecticut, at a very young age and started driving buses for Dave's Bus Company (Senior Travel Bus), as well as transportation for sports teams, etc. Daniel then spent 28 years with Connecticut Transit until retirement. His love for family and friends kept him active. He was a co-chair for The Blue Jay Surface Club in New Haven, Connecticut. He was a member of the Masonic Brotherhood of America. He was also a member of the Shriners Society of America. He, along with his wife, participated in the Amway business for some years. In the early 2000s, Daniel retired from Connecticut Transit and moved to his home state of Georgia to spend time with his mother, Nellie, who was over 100 years old. He leaves to cherish his memory one sister, Ocie Morgan of Jonesboro, Georgia. His children: Pamela Nichols married to William Nichols of Stockbridge, Georgia; Sonya Brevard married to George Brevard of New Haven, Connecticut; Carolyn Charleston of New Haven, Connecticut; and David Charleston married to Rachel Charleston of New Haven, Connecticut. His bonus children are Aremeal Wheeler, married to Ricardo Wheeler of Douglasville, Georgia, and Clarence Williams of Greenville, Georgia. He also leaves sister in laws Deborah Smith (Moody) and Criss Williams. He leaves multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, along with a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. The family of Daniel Lee Charleston extend our heartfelt appreciation for the many expressions of love and sympathy shown. Your kindness shown through words, cards, calls, posts, flowers, food and especially prayers have been greatly appreciated. We thank you all.
