Elizabeth "Betty" Bobo Moore

Ms. Elizabeth "Betty" Calloway (Bobo) Moore, age 79, of Newnan, GA, formerly of Fayetteville, GA, passed away on Saturday, July 25, at home. She was born March 13, 1947, in Cedartown, GA, to the late Joseph Austin Bobo and Velma Denton Bobo Crawford. Betty, or "Bobo" as she was affectionately known by many, grew up in Cedartown, GA, and was a 1965 graduate of Cedartown High School. Although she was an only child, she felt truly blessed to have been raised alongside her many cousins. She attended West Georgia College in Carrollton, GA, where she met fellow student William "Tony" Moore, while both were performing in an adaptation of Auntie Mame. They were married in August of 1966 in Cedartown, GA, and in August of 1967 they welcomed their first child, daughter, Kerri Elizabeth. They then moved to Forest Park, GA, where they welcomed their second child, daughter, Jennifer "Ginger" Paige, in 1970. In 1977, they moved to Jonesboro, GA, where they would spend many happy years raising their daughters and immersing themselves in the community. Betty worked in the hospitality industry until 1980, when she began a long and fulfilling career with Delta Air Lines. She began her career in Corporate Records and eventually transferred to a role on Delta's public relations team, Corporate Communications, where she remained until she retired in 2003. She thoroughly enjoyed working for Delta and was especially proud of her accomplishments during her time in Corporate Communications. She traveled all over the world with her family and friends, but what she considered the most meaningful part of her time at Delta was the friendships she made along the way. Betty retired in 2003 but considered herself extremely fortunate to have kept these friendships throughout the rest of her life. After her retirement from Delta Air Lines, Betty was able to focus on another passion in her life - her love of dogs. She became General Manager of her friend's business, Doggie Daycare, in Fayetteville, GA, and spent many years developing meaningful relationships with clients and their dogs. She was a well-loved fixture at Doggie Daycare and, as a volunteer for the Fayette Humane Society, will be remembered as fiercely passionate about the love and care of dogs. Once Betty's health began to decline, she made the decision to move to Brookdale Senior Living in Newnan, GA in 2022, where she lived until her passing. A Celebration of Life and reception for Betty will be held on Sunday, August 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Lillian Gardens, 83 Greenville St., Newnan, GA.
