Eva Ornelas Montalvo

Eva Montalvo, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love she gave so freely throughout her life. Eva lived in Franklin, Georgia, but her roots began in Lubbock, Texas, where she was born and raised. She was the daughter of the late Arnulfo Ornelas and Buena Ventura Ornelas. Eva was a woman of unwavering faith and a devoted member of Born Again Ministries in Newnan, Georgia. She loved her church, loved praising the Lord, and carried her faith with her through every season of her life. Even through the many health battles she faced, her faith never wavered. She continued to trust in God and remained a source of strength, love, and encouragement to those around her. Above all else, Eva was a loving and caring mother. She had a heart that seemed to have room for everyone. She opened her heart and her home to anyone in need and loved fearlessly and without judgment. She never knew a stranger-everyone she met was a friend. She had a remarkable way of making people feel welcomed, loved, and cared for. Eva always put others before herself. Her generosity was not something she simply talked about; it was the way she lived. She gave of herself, her time, her home, and her heart without hesitation. Her love was genuine, unconditional, and felt by so many. She especially treasured her family and took great joy in spoiling her grandchildren. Family gatherings, bingo nights, and time spent together created some of her happiest memories. Eva also had a love for roses, shopping, garage sales, and finding a good deal. She could appreciate the simple joys in life and had a way of making ordinary moments memorable. Eva leaves behind a legacy of faith, compassion, generosity, and unconditional love that will continue through the family and friends whose lives she touched. She is survived by her beloved husband, Horacio Montalvo, and her children: Daisy Lapha, Vanessa Smith, Emilio Montalvo, Ricky Tobar, Jamaica Tobar, Emily Ramirez, Christina Montalvo, and Diego Montalvo. She will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren, extended family, church family, and countless friends who were blessed to know and love her. Though our hearts are broken by her absence, we find comfort knowing that Eva's faith has become sight. The love she gave so freely will remain in the hearts of all who knew her, and her memory will live on through the family she loved so dearly. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, in Newnan, with Pastor Tony Grant officiating.
