Janice Clark

Janice Elaine Griffith Clark, 79, of Moreland, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026. She was born February 8, 1947, in Munich, Germany, to Henry Harvey Griffith and Hilda Joyce Marshall Griffith, while her father was serving in the military. Janice shared 58 years of marriage with her husband, Richard Boyd Clark, Jr. Together they built a life centered on the two things Janice treasured most-her faith and her family. Janice was enthusiastic, happy, friendly, caring, and deeply spiritual. She had an outgoing personality, a gift for encouraging others, and a heart that wanted everyone she met to feel loved. Her relationship with her Savior, Jesus Christ, was the foundation of her life. She looked for opportunities to share His love with others and to make sure the people around her knew they were valued and cared for. Although a muscle disorder left Janice homebound for much of her adult life, it never defined her spirit. Her physical limitations may have made her world smaller, but they never diminished her faith, her enthusiasm for life, or her desire to make a difference in the lives of others. When Janice was able, she did big things. She served as President of Pro Family Unity and, during the 1970s, worked passionately to oppose the Equal Rights Amendment because of her deeply held belief in protecting and strengthening the family. During the 1980s, she was often invited to speak and became known as a gifted motivational speaker. Janice had a natural ability to energize a room, encourage others, and make people believe they were capable of more than they thought possible. One of her favorite sayings was, "Stick to your task until it sticks to you." It was more than a saying; it reflected the determination and perseverance with which she approached her own life. As the years passed, Janice found some of her greatest happiness in the family that continued to grow around her. She treasured time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. With 19 great-grandchildren and two more on the way, Janice had the wonderful blessing of seeing the family she loved grow through generations. Their lives, accomplishments, visits, and simply their presence brought her tremendous joy. Janice is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard Boyd Clark, Jr.; children, Brian (Lori) Clark, Lisa (Michael) Nimmer, and David (Tara) Clark; grandchildren, Rudy (Chase) Randall, Casey (Andrew) Detterbeck, Jordan (Stuart) Coburn, Brian Clark, Payton (Kaden) McKinnon, Susan (Joshua) Lowman, Rushton Nimmer, Ruth Anne Nimmer, Kathryn Nimmer, Tyler Nimmer, Alexx (Meagan) Messamore, Richard (Sierra) Clark, Jonathan Clark, Sara (Jack) Bush, Megan Clark, and Kirstin Clark; 19 great-grandchildren, with two more precious great-grandchildren on the way; as well as her extended family. A celebration of Janice's life will be held Saturday, September 5, 2026, at McKoon Funeral Home & Crematory, 38 Jackson Street, Newnan, Georgia. They were not simply something she said; they were a reflection of how she lived. Janice leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, family, encouragement, determination, and love. Her family will miss her enthusiasm, her outgoing spirit, her encouragement, and the happiness she brought into their lives.
