Kaaren Kirbow Moseley

Kaaren Kirbow Moseley, 66, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2024, ending her courageous battle with brain cancer. She was born on October 1, 1957, in Newnan, GA. She graduated from Newnan High School and pursued higher education at the University of Georgia. In Athens, Kaaren met and married her husband, Richard Moseley. Kaaren is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Richard Moseley; her mother, Sara Ellen McKoy Kirbow (Shirley); her children and their spouses, Joshua (Amy) Moseley and Rachael (Chase) Bean; her grandchildren, Andrew Moseley, Sara Lynn Moseley, Avery Bean, Addie Bean, Audrey Bean, and Andie Bean; and her siblings, Kent (Donna) Kirbow and Kristi (Dennis) Coggin, along with many other close relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Kirbow. In her early years, Kaaren was an avid 4-H member and achieved her master 4-H classification in riflery. She continued her passion for shooting sports at The University of Georgia where she was a four-year letterman on the rifle team and co-captain in her senior year. Kaaren was also selected for the first ROTC regional shooting team, spending a summer at Fort Meade in Maryland and competing in national matches. While in college she began her career as a grocery manager at Kroger, where she was a dedicated employee, manager, and mentor to countless others for 39 years until she retired in 2020. Kaaren was an active volunteer, consistently giving her time in the service of others. She delivered groceries to those in need, donated over 12 gallons of blood to the American Red Cross blood drives, and donated platelets as frequently as they would allow. She was also the primary caretaker for her husband, who has had serious medical issues over the years. Her personal life centered around her children and grandchildren, and she cherished cooking for large family gatherings and baking with her grandchildren. Kaaren also had a great love for the beach. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 23, 2024 from 5 - 7 PM at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St., Newnan. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 24 at White Oak ARP Church, 2796 Gordon Rd., Senoia, GA. A private burial for family members will follow. Kaaren's selflessness was an inspiration to all who knew her and she will be terribly missed.
