Mary Ann Parrish

Ann Daniel Parrish of Newnan died September 19, 2007 at her residence. A native of Heard County, Georgia, she was born April 13, 1943, the daughter of the late Dent Daniel. Her mother, Louise Nelms Daniels, of Newnan, survives her. Ann was a graduate of The Georgia Baptist School of Nursing, and thus began her life of dedicated care for those who were entrusted to her. For the last 14 years she was the tender caregiver for the patients of Dr. Boyce Thomas at the PAPP Clinic Newnan Pediatric office. She was a member of Newnan First United Methodist Church. In addition to her mother, her husband, Reverend Gary Parrish of Newnan, daughters, Beth Ellison and her husband Dr. Jim Ellison of Fayetteville and Jena Evans and her husband Rusty of Newnan survive Ann. She was a proud grandmother to William Parrish Ellison, Bennett Weldon Ellison, William Chase Evans, Grant Maxwell Evans and Sara Katherine Evans. Also surviving are her sisters Carolyn Miller and her husband Wayne of Franklin, GA, Brenda Crumley and her husband Darrell of Franklin, GA and Joy Dorris of Bothell, WA. She has one brother, Billy Daniel of LaGrange. There is an extended family of nieces and nephews. Ann and her family were blessed by so many friends who were so attentive to their well being during these last days of illness. Funeral arrangements are by McKoon Funeral Home at 38 Jackson Street in Newnan where the family will receive friends on Saturday, September 22nd from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and also from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM. The Memorial Service will be on Sunday, September 23, 2007 at 3:00 PM at Newnan First United Methodist Church at 33 Greenville Street. Officiating will be Dr. Med Roach, Reverend Larry Patton, Dr. Jim Ellison and Dr. Davis Chappell. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In honor of Ann’s love for all children, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Newnan First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 33 Greenville Street, Newnan,Ga. 30263 or The United Methodist Children’s Home 500 S.
