Melita Ronalda Walker

Melita Ronaldo Walker, age 39, received her wings on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at her home. She was born June 28, 1977 in Queens, New York. She grew up in Jamaica Estates (Queens) with her mother and three sisters. Melita was a very special young lady. As a child growing up she enjoyed life, she loved music, she loved to dance, and her smile would light up a room. Her acceptance to the loss of her left leg, due to childhood cancer, was taken in a mature manner. Melita was very determined about her rehabilitation and achieved great accomplishments. She challenged her second fight with cancer at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Newnan, GA. Melita’s greatest accomplishment she achieved was the birth of her two children, Paige and Trinity, who she loved so dearly; they were her biggest blessing in life. She was a fighter on Earth, she was a fighter in life, and everything she fought for she won. This is her legacy… Melita leaves to mourn and is survived by her parents, Melita Ronalda Garcia of Union City, GA and Floyd Walker of New York; her beloved daughter and son, Paige Angel George and Courtney Trinity Young; three sisters, Tohnya Marsh of North Carolina, Iyesater Marsh of New York, and Kenya Andrea Dozier of Newnan, GA; a brother in law, Sidney Dozier of Newnan, GA; a grandmother, Henri Mae Shular of Union City, GA; grandfathers, Harold Robinson of Ohio and Richard Quinones of Bronx, New York; Uncle, Britto V. Garcia and aunt, Gail Garcia; nieces and nephews, Dominique L. Williams, Autumn Vashtee Weeks, Larry B. Smith, Ihsia W. Owens, Satia N. Cumberland, Cheyenne Dozier, and Malachi Dozier; cousins, Tiffeny Garcia, Britto Garcia, Desmond Garcia, Brandan Garcia, and several other family members and friends. Melita also leave to mourn her companion, Maynard Lantimo, “her children’s Godfather” and the fathers of her children, Courtney Kevin Young and Dwayne George. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of McKoon Funeral Home with Rev. Harry Gatewood and Minister Andre Thomas officiating.
