Mrs. Nancy Lou Napier Christmas December 8, 1944 - July 13, 2025 Mrs. Nancy Lou Napier Christmas, age 80, formerly of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, passed away at Westhill Senior Living in Newnan, Georgia. She was born on December 8, 1944, at Fort McPherson in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Sgt. Charles Holmes Napier and Susie Ellen Graham Napier. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Richard "Rick" Christmas, and her sister, Patricia Ellen "Pat" Napier. Nancy grew up in D'Iberville, Mississippi, and Milner, Georgia. After graduating from high school, she attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Perkinston, where she was a proud member of the Perkettes. She went on to earn a degree in counseling from the University of Southern Mississippi, where she met the love of her life, Rick. They were married in Milner, Georgia, in 1966. Shortly after their wedding, Nancy and Rick moved to Germany, where they lived for four years. During their time abroad, they explored Europe by bicycle and motorcycle, beginning a lifelong passion for travel. Together, they continued to journey across the country and the world by bike, motorcycle, camper, and eventually RV. With Nancy's warm smile and charming personality, they never met a stranger, making friends wherever they went and bringing joy to everyone they encountered. Nancy was passionate about helping others and dedicated her career to education. She served as an elementary school counselor in both Leadville, Colorado, and Moss Point, Mississippi. Her compassion, insight, and gentle guidance left a lasting impact on the lives of countless students and families. In addition to her work in education, Nancy was a gifted artist and painter. She had a creative soul and found beauty in the world around her. Her artistic spirit permeated all aspects of her life, infusing everything she did with color, care, and meaning. Nancy's legacy of love, adventure, education, and creativity will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her two beloved sisters, Beverly Grant and Judy Hammett Hamilton. She also leaves behind a large extended family who adored her, including her nieces: Natalie Nicholson, Valerie (Brett) Perkins, and Jessica (William) Richardson; and nephews: Charles (Dana) Cato, Champ (Marisa) Hammett, and Zack Christmas. She was also cherished by several great-nieces and great-nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Newnan City Church, 17 1st Avenue, Newnan, GA 30263 with Dr. Jimmy Ellison officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
