Ronald Thomas Wojcik

Dr. Ronald Thomas Wojcik, age 60, of Canton, Georgia, passed away on February 21, 2008, while on assignment in Ulm, Germany. He will be greatly missed by his wife of thirty-eight years, Gretchen Bennett Wojcik, and two daughters and sons-in-law, Krista and Jeffrey Stephens of Florence, South Carolina, and Amy and Richard O’Dell of Marietta, Georgia. He is also survived by grandsons, Evan and David O’Dell; a brother, David Wojcik of New Brunswick, Canada; a sister, Marcia Rosen of Boston, Massachusetts and several aunts and cousins. Ron was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Jane Zebroski Wojcik, and a brother, Gerald Wojcik. Ron was born in Stamford, Connecticut. He received a Ph.D. in Polymer Science and Engineering from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, a M.S. in Polymer Chemistry from the Polytechnic Institute of New York in Brooklyn, N. Y., and a B.A. in Chemistry from Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York, where he met his then future wife, Gretchen. Dr. Wojcik was an experienced polymer scientist and seasoned manager with a diverse background of managing complex projects involving various technologies. He held 13 patents in the United States and worldwide, and had more than thirty years experience in some of the largest chemical and surface coatings companies, including Arco Chemical Corporation and Olin Corporation. Dr. Wojcik served as Technical Director for CeloNova BioSciences, Inc., 49 Spring Street, Newnan, Georgia for the past several years, where he was an invaluable member of the Company’s corporate management team. In his duties there, he spent a great deal of his time in Ulm and Heidelberg, Germany, coordinating research and development and manufacturing activities for CeloNova’s German operations. His contributions to mankind will include two medical devices, developed under his guidance and already available in Europe, which will no doubt positively enhance and extend the lives of countless persons. Ron will be sadly missed by his colleagues at CeloNova, both in the United States and in Europe, as well as by the Company’s many partners, affiliates and customers. A funeral mass in celebration and honor of the life of Dr. Ronald Thomas Wojcik will be conducted on Friday, March 7, 2008, at 1:00 PM at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1618 Ben King Road, Kennesaw, GA 30144, Telephone 770-428-7139.
