Savannah Catherine Wood

Savannah Catherine Wood, “Savannah Cate,” was born on May 2, 2026, at 7:13 PM at Piedmont Newnan Hospital and was gently called home to be with her Lord and Savior the same day. Though her time on this earth was brief, Savannah Catherine’s life was a beautiful answer to prayer, deeply wanted, dearly loved, and forever cherished. She knew only warmth, love, and the steady heartbeat of her mother, and her life would always hold profound meaning in the hearts of her family. She is survived by her loving parents, Lawson Tyler Wood and Cynthia Ann Wood; her big sisters, Nayvie, Brooklyn, and Caydence; and her big brother, Christian, who will always carry her memory with them. Savannah Catherine is also survived by her grandparents, Woodie T. Wood, Jr., Chadwick Jerome Wood, Melinda Smith Staley (Tom), and Cindy Putnam Duke; her great-grandmother, Cereita Wood Dempsey; and her great-great-grandmother, Johnnie Ruth Cooper, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Timothy Wesley Duke; her great-grandparents, Donald Jerome Wood, Ricky Lee Dempsey, Richard Franklin Smith, Judith Jones Smith, Woodie T. Wood, Sr., Catherine Millians Wood, Lamar Allen Putnam, and Margaret Bearden Putnam. While her family grieves the loss of holding her here on earth, they find comfort in the promise of God’s Word. Savannah Catherine now rests in perfect peace, whole and healed, cradled in the arms of Jesus and surrounded by everlasting love. Her life, though short, is a reminder that every soul is precious and every moment is a gift. Savannah Catherine will forever be remembered as a beloved daughter, sister, and granddaughter and a cherished child of God whose light will never fade. A remembrance will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026.
