Vivian Leigh White

Vivian Leigh White peacefully and joyfully went to be with her Savior and Lord at 9:45pm Wednesday evening from her home in Sharpsburg, Georgia. Present with her was her husband of 29 years, Wayne White, and her youngest daughter, Aaralyn Loop, along with mother-in-law Melba Brady and long time family friend Nancy Van Wyk. Vivian fought cancer the last seven years of her life with great courage and good humor all the way to the last moment, when she gave a wry smile at a family joke seconds before her passing. She was always more concerned about those around her than herself. During the last several weeks of Vivian’s sickness, family and friends visited often. Vivian seemed to collect intimate friends everywhere she went. During her work as an emergency room and ICU nurse fellow employees grew to love her and visited often; in some cases staying all night at her home to help take care of her during the last few difficult weeks. Vivian’s many friends from Christ Church – PCA, Newnan, were near and dear to her. They displayed exceedingly great generosity and support through visitation, house and yard work, food, and emotional support. Their love and care is overwhelming and words cannot express our gratitude. Vivian had the gift of touching lives everywhere she went. She was equally comfortable vigorously advocating for a sick patient at her work, or playing with the smallest child nearby. The gap she leaves behind among family, friends, and acquaintances is inexpressible. Vivian was God’s gift to her family for her short life of 52 years. She is survived by Wayne White, her husband, and three adult children, Sarah Hartley of Fredericksburg, Ohio, Aaralyn Loop of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Joshua White of Stillwater, Oklahoma, parents, Carroll & Ernestine Tickle, siblings Roger Tickle & Angie Van Winkle all of Mt. Vernon, OH, and five grandchildren.. Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to Christ Church-PCA, 1485 Hwy 34 E, Newnan, GA 30265. The funeral will be Saturday, March 3, 2007, at 2pm at Carriage Lane Presbyterian Church located at 101 Carriage Lane, Peachtree City, GA. On Sunday, March 4 a brief memorial service will be held at Green Valley Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, followed by interment
