Charles Richard Gielow, Jr.

April 4, 1951 - March 18, 2022

Charles Richard Gielow Jr., affectionately known as Chuck, was born April 4, 1951, in McDonough, GA. On March 18, 2022, Chuck passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones. Chuck was a graduate of Collierville High School and studied at West Georgia College. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc. and retired happily in Senoia, GA. Chuck loved spending quality time with family, telling stories about his life, being an 'honorary tour guide' of Senoia, and was an avid gun and music enthusiast. No one loved more deeply, protected more fiercely, or celebrated with more gusto than Chuck did for his family. Chuck was survived by his adoring wife, Rhonda Lynn Gielow; children, Charles Richard Gielow III, Jonathan Michael Gielow, and Cody Elijah Gielow; grandchildren Avali, Kyan, Keva, and River; his loving mother Frances Free Gielow; and siblings Beth Burke (David), Lt. Col. Harold Gielow USMC Ret. (Liz), and Laura Greene (Wendell). He was preceded in death by his father Charles Richard Gielow Sr. A private service will be held April 12, 2022 at Georgia National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charitable organization that supports cancer research and/or patients in Chuck's name.
