Darius Ryjhon Whited Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

How do you even describe this young man? Darius Ryjhon Whited was born November 1, 1994. He was a tiny four pound baby with the best disposition. He was a traveler from the beginning, taking a cross country trip at two weeks old. When people describe Darius, the first thing they say is how kind and respectful he was. There was never a response without a ma'am or sir attached. As a military kid, he traveled the world and lived in many places. In high school, his family settled in Georgia and Darius found a passion in marching band and drum corp. He played the mellophone for East Coweta High School, The JSU Marching Southerners and DCI's Troopers. When Darius performed, he put his heart and soul on the field and brought joy to those fortunate enough to witness it. Darius joined the Army in 2015 and deployed as an Intelligence Analyst and tactical controller. After he left the military, he continued working as an intelligence analyst in the private sector. Darius settled in Northern Virginia and found a community of fellow car and motorcycle enthusiasts. Whether it was his Jeep, his Nissan, his BMW or one of his motorcycles, Darius loved driving. His riding family brought him a sense of belonging and joy. Describing his life and accomplishments doesn't capture the true Darius though. His resume doesn't tell you how his eyes crinkled up when he smiled or how his laugh could fill the room. Nothing can describe the deep bond he and his mom shared or how much he loved his sister. It's impossible to capture how deeply he loved or how much joy he brought his family. Whether in the church nursery or with his cousins, kids were drawn to Darius and vice versa. It's as if they brought out the kid in him! A traditional obituary does not tell you how he was a talented artist or how much he adored his dogs, Whiskey and Aero. Left to mourn are his mother and step father, Shady and Carmela Carter, his sister Kiana Carter, step sister Shawnté Carter and nephew Malakhai along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Our lives are forever changed because we were privileged enough to have him and his loss leaves a gaping hole. He joins his loving Mamaw and Papaw. As a motorist, please watch for motorcycles. The person on that bike has a family and a split second can change a life. And if you are part of the motorcycle community, we implore you to practice safety and caution while riding. The funeral service celebrating the life Darius lived is Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 4:00 PM in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, in Newnan.
