Edwin Blackshear Bean was born in Holmes County (Graceville), FL on August 2, 1925, to Mary Bush Bean and Alexander Bean. He grew up in FL and moved to Columbus, GA, where he worked for Bibb Manufacturing Company for 35 years finishing his career as Maintenance Engineer. He then worked with Coweta County Water Department for 8 years before retiring in 1991. He was a member of Sargent Baptist Church and a former deacon and Sunday School teacher. He passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on February 4, 2022. He was preceded in death in death by his parents and sisters Desma Clark, Dahlia Register, Frances Hubbard and Shirley Davis. Left to memorialize his passing are his wife of 71 years, Sue Bean; daughters Karen Snyder (Jeff) of Conyers, GA and Teresa Morneault (Ken) of Bogart, GA; grandsons Thomas Morneault of Athens, GA and Luke Morneault of Hamilton, NY; sister Carolyn Sellers of Bowling Green, FL; a special cousin and friend David Bean (Judy) of Donaldsonville, GA; and nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park will be held Saturday, February 5 at 1:00PM with Pastor Brian Self and Harry White officiating.
