Steven Wayne Fox

September 14, 1957 - February 2, 2022

Steven Wayne Fox, 64, of Newnan GA, died Wednesday February 2nd after nearly a year long struggle with Stage 4 Cancer at his home in the company of his loving wife Vickie Lynne Fox of Newnan Georgia, son Jason Wesley Goodwin of Douglas Wyoming, daughter Miranda Fox Ricks of Brandon Mississippi and his granddaughter Olivia Daring Ricks of Brandon Mississippi. He was born September 14th, 1957 in Birmingham Alabama to William Irby (deceased) and Marguerite Fox. Steven was the second son of 4, his brothers are William Irby Fox Jr., Stanley Fox, and Kerry Fox of Batesville Arkansas. Steven is also survived by his daughter-in-law Jennifer Corrine Goodwin, son-in-law Jeffrey Wayne Ricks, and grandchildren Bryce Wyatt Goodwin and Kayden Goodwin of Luske Wyoming, Josilyn Mae Price of Douglas Wyoming. Steven accomplished a great many things in his life, some you may never have even heard in his funny stories about his life and where it took him over his 64 years. He was a lover of family, friends, crappie fishing, deer hunting (though we suspect that he loved the solitude as much as the sport), was a food and drink enthusiast, Pink Floyd super fan, former roller skating aficionado with a job in the 70s as a skating rink manager/ref, awarded a full scholarship to Duke University for his masterful skill at playing the trumpet, and for reasons unknown to most of us, he had his very own bowling ball with his name on the bag. Steve grew a stunning mustache in his late teens/ early twenties and wore it nearly every day of the rest of his life with the exception of a few small incidents where he shaved and remembered immediately why he grew it in the first place. Steve worked with his father (until his passing in 1985) at a Georgia Pacific Paper Mill in Crossett Arkansas as a young adult until finishing his bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Systems at The University of Arkansas, Monticello where he and his fellow students shared in the small club of very poorly named mascots. The Boll Weevil as defined by Merriam Webster; a usually grayish or brown weevil (Anthonomus grandis grandis) that feeds on the squares and bolls of the cotton plant, was the topic of much conversation and laughter. Upon gaining his bachelor's degree, Steven moved his family from Crossett Arkansas to Sharpsburg Georgia so that he could commute to his new SAP Analyst position at the Georgia Pacific corporate HQ in Atlanta Georgia. Steven's love language was SAP and so he made a career of being a Master SAP Analyst and enjoyed it while progressing his career and that took the family to Aurora Colorado in 1997, and finally to Newnan Georgia where he and Vickie lived from 1999 until his passing. Steven loved being a grandfather and was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren. The family wishes to thank his friends with their support and the Meal Train, his bothers, all loved ones, and McKoon's Funeral Home where he was cremated. It was Steven's wishes because of Covid restrictions and the fact that he lived so far away from his family and friends that there be no ceremony or service held. Thank you all for your prayers, well wishes, support and kind words about Steven. McKoon Funeral Home & Crematory (770) 253-4580
