Dr. Carol Robinson Kight

Dr. Carol Robinson Kight, 81, of Newnan, Georgia, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2026. She was born December 6, 1944, in Okemah, Oklahoma, to the late Clifford Elliott Robinson & Margueritte Ruth "Peggy" Slagle. Carol moved to Newnan, Georgia, with her family and graduated from Western High School. She attended West Georgia College and married her high school sweetheart, forming the roots of a life defined by faith, learning, and devotion to others. They moved to Louisville, Kentucky, briefly while her husband, Tom, completed seminary training. Throughout his ministry, Carol was his support and partner, faithfully serving alongside him and using her teaching gifts in Sunday school and other ministry areas. Her deep faith in the Lord was a constant guide- sustaining her through the loss of her husband in 2005 and providing strength and peace during her own health challenges in later years. Carol dedicated 35 years of her professional life to teaching high school chemistry, where she was known not only for her mastery of the subject but also for her commitment to helping students truly understand and appreciate science. She held a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Master of Science in Education from West Georgia State University, and later earned a Doctorate in Science Education from the University of Georgia-achievements that reflected her deep commitment to scholarship and teaching excellence. Her lifelong love of learning never faded. After retiring from teaching, she pursued and earned a Doctorate of Naturopathy, embracing a new chapter of service focused on holistic health and wellness. Together with her husband, she became a respected Naturopathic Practitioner and owned a successful natural health practice, with offices in both Winder and Hiawassee, Georgia. Her work reflected the same curiosity, discipline, and integrity that had defined her years in education. After retirement, she returned to Newnan, where she remained active and engaged-attending community events, traveling with friends, and staying closely connected to family. She embraced life fully, finding joy in learning, connection, and shared experiences. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was a loyal friend and devoted sibling, mother, and grandmother, known for her sharp mind, sense of humor, and genuine love of life. She had a deep passion for travel and took great pride in researching and carefully documenting her family's history, preserving stories and memories for future generations. She is survived by her daughter, Kim (James); grandchildren Brittany, Paxton (Julie), Jack (Ashley), and James Holland Brittle; great-grandsons Elijah and James Alan Brittle; and her sisters, Elaine Ormand, Clarice (Gary) Smith, and Cathy Robinson; brother Joe (Teresia) Robinson; and sister-in-law Linda Robinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Holland Kight Jr., and her brother, Clifford Elliott Robinson Jr. The memorial celebration will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, January 16, 2026, at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan. The family will be available for a brief visitation at 10:00 am. A private graveside service at Oak Hill Cemetery will be held immediately following.
