Delores Louise Collins

Mrs. Delores Louise Collins, 85, of Senoia, Newnan, formerly of Garden City MI, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023 at Magnolia Senior Living. She was born April 4, 1938 in Caro, MI to the late Harold Lewis Campbell and Pauline Taylor Campbell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her youngest son Brian Lewis Collins, twin brother Duane Campbell, youngest brother Richard Campbell and her sister Edna Campbell Radzwion. Dori grew up in Caro, MI and attended Wayne Memorial High School in Wayne, Michigan. She married her husband, Paul Gilliam Collins on June 19, 1955. She was a mother of five children and worked as a volunteer in Garden City Public schools. Dori received the "Silver Apple Award" from the Garden City Board of Education for her 25 years of volunteer work in the Garden City schools. In 1980, she and her husband moved to Georgia. In 1984 she began working at Upton's department store as a sales associate until her retirement in 1999. After moving to Newnan in 1994. She began volunteer work at Crossroads Church "stuffing bulletins" and became a member of the "Silver Bells" preparing and serving food at the church leadership meetings. "Grandma Dori" spent a great deal of time babysitting many of her nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren over the years. The funeral is Friday, December 1, 2023 at 11:00 AM at McKoon Funeral Home Chapel, 38 Jackson Street, Newnan with Pastor John Hobbs officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 pm at Sherwood Memorial Park, 6841 Tara Blvd., in Jonesboro, Georgia. Visitation will be on Friday, from 10:00-11:00 AM at McKoon Funeral Home. Collins Lutz and husband Jeff of Newnan; brother, Kenneth Campbell of Caro MI, Leslie Campbell and wife Joanne of Plymouth MI; sister, Marilyn Kay Miller of Mesa, AZ; grandchildren, Paul G.
