Don Marston Grimes

Don Marston Grimes, 79, of Newnan, GA formerly of Sacramento, California died Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at his home. He was born January 5, 1930 in Oakland, CA to the late Henry T. & Mildred Richhart Grimes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings and his grandson, Todd Pedersen. Mr. Grimes was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints. He was a retired educator and administrator with the California State Board of Education. He served his country during the Cold War as an Air Force jet fighter pilot. He was an avid musician and composer with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music. He also had his Master’s and Doctorate in Education Administration. The funeral is Monday, May 4, 2009 at 1:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 821 Old Atlanta Hwy, Newnan, GA. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan. The visitation is Sunday evening between 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St, Newnan, GA.
