Patricia Ann Underwood (Hrapcak), 85, of Newnan, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on May 8, 1941, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, Pat was the cherished daughter of the late Michael and Helen Hrapcak and the beloved twin sister of Priscilla Ann Vozel(Hrapcak). Throughout their lives, the sisters shared an extraordinary bond, creating countless memories filled with laughter, love, and unwavering support. Pat's greatest joy was always her family. She was a devoted mother who raised her three children with love, patience, and quiet strength. Her gentle spirit, kind heart, and steadfast devotion were evident in everything she did. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures-family gatherings, long phone conversations, visits with loved ones, and watching her children and grandchildren grow. In 1965, Pat moved to Atlanta, Georgia, to support her husband, Ron Underwood, as he pursued his career as a Delta Air Lines pilot. She devoted those years to creating a warm and loving home while raising their three children. In 1979, the family relocated to Newnan, Georgia, where they enjoyed life on a horse farm that Ron had always dreamed of owning. Following their divorce in 1982, Pat returned to Pennsylvania and began a new chapter of life in North Huntingdon. For the next 32 years, Pat built a meaningful life in Pennsylvania, working for the Ames Company, Carnegie Mellon University, and Westinghouse. She was admired for her strong work ethic, quiet determination, and resilience. In 2000, Pat suffered an arteriovenous malformation (AVM), which resulted in ongoing medical and physical challenges. As her health needs increased, her children encouraged her to return to Georgia in 2014 so she could be closer to family. Surrounded by the love and support of her children and grandchildren, Pat spent her retirement years in Newnan enjoying the comfort of family, treasured visits, and many cherished memories together. A lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Pat rarely missed a game. She knew the players, followed the statistics, and loved talking football with her children. Her loyalty to the black and gold was legendary-even flying to Pittsburgh to welcome the Steelers home following one of their Super Bowl championships. Pat also enjoyed playing bingo with family and friends, buying lottery tickets, and trying her luck at the penny and nickel slot machines. She appreciated life's simple joys and was happiest when surrounded by those she loved. Though naturally soft-spoken and humble, her love for her family was immeasurable and felt deeply by everyone fortunate enough to know her. Pat is lovingly survived by her children: Ronald L. Underwood Jr. and his wife, Jennifer Underwood, of Newnan, Georgia; Sheri Underwood Lamb and her husband, Russell Lamb, of Canton, Georgia; and Michael Underwood and his fiancée, Angela Smith, of Greenville, Georgia. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Sydni Alison Lamb of London, England; Patricia Lynn Underwood of Newnan, Georgia; and Ronald Lee Underwood III of Orlando, Florida, who were the light of her life. Pat is also survived by her beloved twin sister, Priscilla Ann Vozel and her husband, Gary Vozel, of North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives she touched with her kindness. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate team at Guiding Light Hospice, especially Jan and Alice, whose loving care, kindness, and dedication brought comfort and peace to Pat during her final days. They also wish to recognize Brianna, Pat's case worker, whose guidance, compassion, and unwavering support meant so much to Pat and her family throughout her journey. The family is especially grateful to the caregivers and staff at The Monarch House in Newnan, Georgia, who embraced Pat with dignity, respect, and genuine love during the final chapter of her life. Their exceptional care and the kindness they showed both Pat and her family will always be remembered. A graveside service celebrating Pat's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 24, 2026, at St. Joseph Cemetery, 1443 Lincoln Highway, North Versailles, Pennsylvania 15137.
